ST has taken the initiative to arrange a AU conference on the UN sustainable development goals. The conference will take place on February 4th 2019, 15:00-19:00.

The work title for now is “Partnerships for a sustainable future”.

Main speaker is AU chair Connie Hedegaard and we are working on having a VIP representative from Grundfos to attend as well. Martin Breum will be moderator of the conference and making sure the debates will be both entertaining and educational.

It has been decided that the conference will be open to all and thereby we expect the audience to be broad and local. On that note the conference will be held in Danish.

The programme of the conference will entail “VIP” presentations from Connie Hedegaard and Grundfos regarding the roles of research and businesses to achieve a sustainable future.

There will be a couple of panels and top researcher presentations from ST, BSS, Arts and Health on research on sustainable solutions.

Before and after the conference there will be a display of sustainable solutions from a variety of parties (public, private, research and civil society).

And finally we are working on a surprise – which is still a surprise.

Below you will find a draft of the official invitation, which we hope to launch in the beginning of December.

TASK

As this is an AU conference we need all faculties and institutes to contribute so that the conference will be a success. We need excellent research, and presentations that captivates a broad audience.

Therefore - by November 15th we need you to:

  • Identify researchers / research groups (all levels) that will and are able to run a stand in the lobby of the “aula” at AU. The stand must present research results or projects that are affiliated to one or several SDG’s. Please specify the SDG.
  • Identify collaborators, public and/or private, which your department has had a particular successful collaboration with regarding a sustainable solution.

Please forward the above information to Mie Lundgaard, ST faculty office, mie.lundgaard@au.dk.

We wish for as many SDG’s to be addressed. This might make it necessary to prioritize and choose amongst your submitted proposals.
